Individual Custom Sessions
A therapeutic artmaking consultation with Cherie, gives a supportive space for guiding you to self-discovery and revealing your personal insight.
What to expect? Depending on your preferences, a session may have a meditative quality, or it can be purely about exploring and playing with creativity and artmaking.
Typically, a session may begin with music, a grounding meditation or a storytelling or ritual. Together, we explore a question, a theme, or a prompt as we make our artworks. The aim is for you to explore..
In person or online video call.

Group Workshops
Explore your creativity and expressive artmaking with Workshop Events. Each will have a focus on wellbeing, possibly a celebration of days, such as Earth Day, Mother’s Day or themes such as gratitude and acceptance.
Workshops may explore storytelling and fairytales and archetypes of women in Womens’ Art Circles. I will also be facilitating expressive drawing, painting and mixed media workshops, and Art Journalling.
Pricing for workshops will average $70 per person for a 2 hour workshop held at local community centre.
I offer a mobile art workshop service. For example for children’s birthday parties, or a social or corporate event.
Why holistic art therapies?
“The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear
Holistic Art Therapy ….
Holistic art therapy is a tool for personal insight and reflection. I aim to act as a guide and I love to help people see the possibilities that creativity offers for improving your sense of wellbeing. We find together that it is ok to be messy, to make “mistakes” or take a direction we didn’t expect.
Holistic complementary therapies (such as art therapy) encompass wellbeing of mind, body and spirit, which are connected. Art therapy makes a space to access and exercise your own creativity, often with benefits for personal healing and growth. Creativity allows us to change the way we think, to tap into intuition and creative problem solving.
Creating an artwork brings a sense of satisfaction and achievement, and joy. My workshops will look at satisfying art making techniques which help us explore self-discovery and playfulness - such as messy art journals, mixed media art, simple printmaking, abstraction, still life drawing and expressionist portraits. We enjoy the processes, with mindfulness and try very hard to let go of our desire to be or make things perfect.
Are there Medicare or NDIS rebates for Cherie’s holistic art therapy services?
Briefly: NDIS has specific allowances for art therapists with a Masters of Art Therapy from particular universities. However my holistic art therapies education is through the Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy (HICAT) and Master Practitioner of Holistic Art Therapy study. These courses are validated by International Institute of Complementary Therapists Assn. I practice as a teacher and holistic creative therapy facilitator and am insured as a practitioner of complementary therapies.
NDIS clients may enquire with their plan manager about access to artmaking or learning support service and advise me.
Medicare: There is progress happening with Medicare rebates becoming available for counselling services. I will complete Masters of Counselling at Univiersity of Canberra in 2025. I am hopeful that this will mean eventually I can offer holistic art therapy services as a counsellor with Medicare rebates.
I aim to offer services that are reasonably affordable.
